When Seams Unlikely was published, I took it everywhere and read anywhere from paragraphs to several pages at a time. One might expect that those five years were filled with sadness and painand there was a lot of thatbut in those years Nancy also kept looking and planning for the future. She inspired me to get my sewing machine back out and then progress to quilting and embroidery. I wish I could have met her personally. I heard of her passing and felt the loss even though I never met her. The couple met at Minnesota Fabrics, where Richard worked as the store's manager.
