There's still a whole lot I can do with Serana Dialogue Add-On (including stuff I've pushed back, like the Lost to the Ages commentary). - More tunes for Serana to idle-hum to based on some vanilla tunes as well as those from her current song library, - Complete location conversations on all of the remaining major Skyrim Holds (Falkreath, Morthal, Dawnstar, Solitude, Markarth), - A new conversation about Serana's childhood. - Fixed a possible issue for some users with the Companions commentary. Serana will no longer comment negatively about the Companions if you've told her you want to cure the Circle of their lycanthropy. Same reason as above. (These come enabled by default, but should the user not want to hear any lines from the new VA, they should type "Set SDA_AlternateVoice to 0" in the console), - Fuz'ed all dialogue lines from the beta. - Banter toggle with custom-voiced followers. Even vampires get tired. - Backend tweaks for the future implementation of an awesome new feature, allowing Serana's base dialogue animations to change based on her current mood! Decided to just release this as a full update now, and not just a beta, as this update was already extensively tested and any bugs experienced (if there are) should be rather minor. For now it's just about her dad but more topics to come for the next release. Serana Dialogue Add-On at Skyrim Nexus - Mods and Community Known issue with 'follow beside' feature: Sometimes Serana will just headtrack you while running beside you. - Disabled SDA_SeranaRomance 11 (Date at the Bannered Mare) quest when it isn't currently running, - Changed the original recap line starter and added a new one for more consistency with the Dawnguard questline plot and the players chosen side. Frankly it'll take too much effort and also cause compatibility issues if I edit that quest for the sake of SDA's sleeping feature, so I've decided to add in this workaround for now. Some issues prevented it from occurring in a radiant manner. Serana Dialogue Add-On - Nexus Mods :: Skyrim Special Edition Upon initiating a short conversation with her (available during the Moth Priest hunt at the earliest) Serana will give you a spell that allows you to summon her from just about anywhere! No need to use another outfit mod/follower framework feature, or fiddle with the lackluster vanilla system. If you've been having problems with the quest, this bugfix update should fix it for sure. On the contrary, if the player isn't currently doing a Dawnguard quest (not at Forebears Holdout, the Volkihar Undercroft, Soul Cairn, etc) almost all of Laura Bailey's lines (except for some radiant player-initiated conversations are disabled in place of Kerstyn's recorded lines. Serana Dialogue Add-On Romance Update + LE Port! - Disabled a bit more radiant idles for a more consistent experience. This should now fix the issue with some of her goodbyes not being able to play. - Thanks to the efforts of keypuncher, one record was changed which allowed my patch to work with both regular and standalone color versions of the Lustmord Armor on SSE. It should now be a blocking branch, so the dialogue would now be harder to miss, - Increased audio of training lines which were too quiet. - Tweaked existing dialogue cool-downs to prevent them from being spammy, - A lot of radiant world commentary on various locations, from animal dens and bandit camps, to even military barracks, - Commentary on Discerning the Transmudane. Keeping 'I'll find us a table' since that's generally more reliable and doesn't rely on Serana's follower AI. - Removed debug notification that shouldn't be there for the horse riding. About Serana Dialogue Add-on Mod - Skyrim Special Edition Discussion (Thanks to ws and po3 over at the r/SkyrimMods Discord for helping with the fix! Serana will no longer interrupt you during Amaund's briefing (Dark Brotherhood commentary), Tweaks to Companions, DB, and CoW commentary SM node entries, Tweaks to Serana's other SM commentary node entries as well, so that they only start when Serana is following you and the relevant quest is running (in addition to the existing Friendship and Dawnguard progress variables), The spell magic effect which tracks cell changes is now removed at the end of completing the CoW and DB quests respectively, SDA Silent Teleport is no longer called when it really doesn't need to be (applied to CoW, DB commentaries mainly), SexLab integration fixed, now native to SDA. She will now use her town outfit in all areas with this keyword. - Script fixes for some Serana wait stuff, like whenever she's called to wait when the Dawnguard questline tells her not to. - Note: As for Serana moving in with the player to someplace once they get married, that's still on the drawing board and I'm still planning how I'll implement that, at least on a technical level, as it is a bit of a technical hurdle. This should help with the VA disparity and greatly improve overall user experience. - The "Kjarah" name was using a voice file with the wrong pronunciation. - Fixed some backend problems with the SDA Injured Dialogue. - Added Serana tracking marker and teleport spell toggles (through Serana Menu). - "How does it feel to be a vampire line" no longer occurs if the player is a vampire too. You can set adventure, home, and city outfits, which she will automatically cycle between depending on the location she's in. -Tweaked alias fill conditions for SDA_NPCBanterMain quest, to make sure it fires off properly and correctly. You can tell Serana to never equip it at all, or only to equip it if it's daytime and she doesn't have any other headgear. (It's easier to manage compared to four separate mod pages). - Sofia Banter (Built-into the mod, without requiring the Sofia mod as a Masterfile). Serana and Sorine (Fort Dawnguard NPC) should have some unique conversations now, starting once Serana first joins the Dawnguard during the "Prophet" quest. You must first get permission from me before you can modify, use, or alter my files for public use. - Fixed Serana saying "Lani" for the "Jon" Name. There are different dialogue options so the player can role-play this in different ways. After this update, NFF (and any follower framework support for Serana) will be obsolete. This has since been fixed. Not going to do a Molag Bal conversation anymore since having it would be redundant, seeing as it's already one of Serana's radiant conversation choices. - Camilla, Orgnar, and Delphine (considering she's still an innkeeper), - Why Serana speaks so casually for a royal vampire, - Serana asking the player questions about their character's goals in life (mainly for the player's role-playing), - Serana being reacquainted with the current world, - Tweaked conditions for some of Serana's radiant greets to occur after earlier on in the Dawnguard questline, - Some backend implementations to ensure Serana doesn't hum when the player is in dialogue with other NPCs (requires SKSE), - Fixed a problem with Serana's dialogue firing off in one of the Sorine scenes, - Added proper AI packages for Lisette and Taarie conversations. Old Stone Walls was re-recorded in both an acapella and acoustic version. Serana Dialogue Add-On Version 3.3 NOW OUT IN OPEN BETA! The revoice will be done in reverse order- with the final revoice parts being the first Dawnguard quests. A quest marker will be provided for where to go. - More subtitle fixes, especially for some font characters which may sometimes display as square boxes, - Serana or other NPCs which have banter with her won't initiate their scenes when the player is currently in dialogue (Requires SKSE). - More subtitle fixes, courtesy of GuerillaTech. When she joins up with the player again after "Bloodlines", after about a week she will start to open up to the player and become friendlier (a new game, or save before Bloodlines is completed required for the timer to take effect). - Serana's SDA leveled spells (like Oakflesh) should now start appearing correctly, and scale properly as Serana and the player level. Did it for sure this time. - Once Serana is married (unofficially) the player is added into a custom Serana married faction, which prevents the vanilla marriage proposal dialogue from occurring with other NPCs. The writing for a lot of these conversations has improved, and Kerstyn's voice should now feel more synergistic with how she voices the Serana character now. - Added some missing scripts and flags that allowed the SDA Injured Commentary to be reset, having it function as a radiant commentary feature, as originally intended, - Added more Alternate Voice flags to existing dialogue, - Fixed some staticy sounds with existing dialogue lines, - Removed more redundant records from earlier versions of the mod, - Improvements to quest commentary fragment scripts, - Serana radiant drink sessions functionality. Serana Dialogue Add-On 3.0 Release! - Serana now performs what is called a 'Silent TP' when she has quest commentary. - Fixed an incorrect master header for the patch. With this installed, you'll be exposed to her entire dialogue pool (again, all lines voiced by Laura Bailey). Too much was cut that some parts of the conversation didn't make any sense. If Serana wasn't talking with NPCs such as Ysolda, Carlotta, Lisette, etc she should be now! The player will be able to ask Serana which version they'd like her to play in-game. Additionally, you will now be able to convince Serana to have a more positive disposition towards the Companions, should you choose to cure the Circle (except Aela- that darn stubborn furry) of their lycanthropy, when the player is the Harbinger. On top of knowing if the player has a vanilla home, I'd also like to add support for modded homes as well. This makes things much more neat, organized, and official DLC-ey. A lot of the beginning College of Winterhold commentaries don't rely on a strong friendship dynamic anyway, narratively speaking. One of the biggest requests for my mod was to fully replace Laura Bailey's performance- as having two VAs voice the same character can be jarring. - Added interaction with Serana, being able to ask her to rest after a long day's adventuring. I want to be sure the player hears what she has to say. So if you don't have the mod installed, the commentary should still run, but there will be a bit of a narrative disconnect. Fixed kiss scene in Serana Romance, so it occurs automatically instead of needing a manual activate from the player, Cut some lines from the Trust conversation that weren't needed and didn't make thematic sense (the lines where Serana asks for you to start your relationship with her again- from zero). - Serana comments on each of the vanilla home locations, via her radiant dialogue. - College of Winterhold general location awareness and commentary. - Deleted unnecessary and old dialogue lines from previous iterations of the mod, - Added in missing script to activate Serana friendship timer. This is to help iron out the writing quality of the mod overall, and make it generally fit in better with Serana's vanilla depiction in Dawnguard. This was an oversight - and partly why the retoggle patch was delayed until 3.3 (since the bloodcursed arrows dialogue was not fully disabled back then). -You can now ask Serana whether you want her to keep her hood on or not! Also rewrites of player dialogue for some of that conversation, Choosing the rejection response no longer disables Serana Romance and Serana Friendship. The former song acts as a universal entry or starting point for Serana's song capabilities, as previously, "The Dragonborn Comes" would only be available to Dragonborn players. Even if you have a high skill in a certain weapon/magic, Serana will not comment on it, unless you have said items equipped. Fixed some redundant code. - Improvements to dialogue conditions for SDA Hangover commentary, - Backend script improvements with quest aliases, - Mjoll Banter will no longer occur outside of Riften, or when Mjoll is a follower, - Script improvements for scripting language of Alternate Voice toggle, - Backend script improvements for Radiant Love Quest. Nearly 300 new voice lines. - Addition of 1st Serana banter framework. If you already completed "A New Covenant" on your current save, you won't be able to play through this quest. I've heard enough reports of people's saves being corrupted once the SDA mod is uninstalled. - The FG/OStim check is now made on each player game load, making SDA now able to detect if either of these animation frameworks were installed on an existing SDA save. - Fixed some problems with the bed script which caused problems with Serana finding available beds in some inns (notably Old Hroldan Inn and the Winking Skeever). You can now ask Serana to: - Keep quiet (She won't talk with NPCs, She won't greet you with her radiant greets), - Stop humming (She won't hum whenever she's idle), - Stop referencing non-Tamrielic cultures (Star Wars prequel memes, 4th wall easter eggs), - Reduced follower banter frequency by -25%, - Reduced volume of some Inigo banter lines for volume consistency, - Decreased skill awareness radiant dialogue frequency by -75%. - Completely redone Serana "What's your opinion on" dialogue with new lines voiced by the new VA, Kerstyn Unger! ", - Serana Companions commentary is now started via a ChangeLocationEvent SM Node. - New romance content towards the earlier parts of Serana's romance plotline. - The bugfix of the previous 1.9.5 patch created another bug, which prevented the Bannered Mare quest from progressing from a certain point. That new bug has now hopefully been fixed. - Backend functionality improvements to the "A Date at the Bannered Mare" quest to ensure it runs more smoothly. (I'm adding this for more immersion, since Serana is a vampire and would need to feed every now and then, but I'm not allowing her to feed on the player. Tweaked StoryManager conditions for Serana's main quest commentary- added more failsafes to ensure they start and run on time. - Radiant commentary on Ancient Technology quest. - One of Serana's easter egg lines (What a grand and intoxicating innocence) didn't have a cooldown and a rarity condition applied. These are location-aware and can only be accessed when Serana and the player are in said locations, through the "Can I talk to you for a bit?" so that it can be asked right away without having to ask "Can I talk to you for a bit?" One of the largest content updates thus far! - The seated position also has it's respective and unique drinking animations, using what is already provided in the base-game (not requiring animation frameworks like FNIS or Nemesis). To fix this, just stop moving to refresh Serana's package stack. This was done since a lot of players go there early in Dawnguard - where the relationship mechanic (and its succeeding dialogue) may not have been unlocked yet. Some good stuff- primarily the fact that you're now able to romance Serana. - Added Old Hroldan Inn as an excluded inn from Serana's sleeping feature. - Note on Jayserpa's newly released mod, House of Horrors - Quest Expansion: Unlike the other House of Horrors edits out there, this mod changes a lot more (particularly at the first stage of the quest). This is because Serana is characterized as someone who is close and open to the player at this point, which didn't make sense for players who just met Serana. - Repurposed existing SDA conversations ((Stories on the Island, Shop, "How does it feel to be a vampire" dialogue) for Drinking Buddies- you can now talk to Serana about these topics through the Drinking Buddies feature! - Disabled Serana Romance as a requirement for the Kindred Judgement conversation, as it also works thematically for a platonic relationship, - Tweaked some conditions on radiant hello lines to be more thematically in line with Serana's character development throughout Dawnguard, - Fixed some issues with OStim integration. I haven't gotten that to work yet, so you'll have to dismiss her yourself. Happens every day or so, she'll choose to give gifts spontaneously (the player will be notified when Serana wants to give a gift). - Main quest dialogue until "Dragonslayer" (Post Main-Quest dialogue coming later), - Serana commentary on player lycanthropy, - Tweak to dialogue conditions on Serana hurt dialogue. Previously the condition for this dialogue was carry weight.
