High heat, low humidity, winds gusting over 20mph, and extremely low moisture levels in vegetation and soil have created a situation ripe for wildfire. Residents are reminded that a burn ban remains in effect for the entirety of Clinton County. Furthermore, residents are urged to use caution in their daily activities. If a fire starts on your property, call 911 before attempting to control the fire yourself. Only then, if you are capable of doing so safely should you consider attempting to control the fire.
The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has extended the previously issued Heat Advisory through 12pm Saturday. In addition, a Heat Warning has been issued effective from 12PM Saturday through 7PM Wednesday. Residents are urged to take precautionary measures when working outdoors.
